The client had lived in a character home for over 50 years and were ready to downsize and enjoy less maintenance and more modern features in their home. That being said, the clients wanted to keep their antique furniture and wanted the feel of a bygone era in their retirement home. The exterior needed to replicate a “tudor” style home, while the interior needed to be classic enough to be sympathetic to the clients furniture. The client loves to cook for her extended family and spaces needed to be large enough for Sunday night family dinners.
Exterior
Sandstone façade with tudor detail provide a reproduction home sympathetic to the area. Every detail has been considered from the bell roof to the tessilated tiles on the front verandah.

Interior
Classic timber floors add warmth to a netural interior. Heritage cornices and skirtings are complimentary to the beautiful cedar picture windows.
The kitchen maximises both storage and bench space with low level cupboards making them easy to reach and numerous drawers maximising ease of operation. Stone bench tops are durable and provide excellent work surfaces.
A feature fireplace in the lounge adds ambience again reflects the old world charm.

A smooth transition for the client from their old house to their new “old style” house. Heir furniture looks great in its new surroundings and the client can enjoy a more low maintenance lifestyle. More time for cooking, less need for cleaning.
